Mauro Pinto was born in Maputo in 1974. In the 90’s he decided to take a photography course at the “Monitor International School” and worked at the same time as a trainee with photographer José Machado. Since then he made photography his occupation.
He has participated in diverse workshops and had the opportunity to exchange experiences with such distinct photographers as Trygve Bolstad, Ricardo Rangel or Karl Kugel, amongst others. Participates in both group and solo exhibitions, in different European and African countries. His photographs have been published in books, magazines and catalogs and his works are included in both private and institutional collections. In 2009, with Gonçalo Mabunda, initiated the Karl Marx 1834 project, transforming his house in a gallery for national and international artists.
